3rd-Jul-2012 03:49 pm - Avengers Fic Fan...list?
Finger Puppets
Let's call it a Fanlist. It might require an explanation.

Cruelest_Month has this series. It's about Phil Coulson and Clint Barton adopting baby!Loki as their son, and it is pure unashamed family fluff. I fucking love it. I mean, I have a thing for adoption fic in general, so I was totally powerless to resist! Cruelest_Month also works in a library and mentions what books they're reading to the kid. I work in the kids' department of a large bookstore, so I get a kick out of that. I was at work immediately after reading her fic and found myself compiling a list of storybooks that remind me of the team. Then I decided to share.

So every book on this list reminds me of one of the Avengers, Loki, or the Clint-Phil-Loki family from this fic.

1st-May-2012 03:55 pm - Lady Loki Stilinski: Kinkmeme fill
Cougar n' Pooch n' a Mustang
From a post on the kinkmeme:

So, I haven't had time to completely comb the kinkmeme, and I'm positive some clever anon came up with this prompt before me...but I really want Loki checking up on his son, Stiles. Whether or not you want to bring in the rest of Loki's children (or, hell, even the Avengers, really) would be up to you, but just think about all the havoc Fenris could have! Sorry. Got a little excited. About Stiles' mom's death...maybe Lady!Loki had to leave because of Thor's return from the Bifrost, IDEK.

Plus, y'all know Lady!Loki would tap Sheriff Stilinski like a frat boy at a kegger. Don't lie.

Had to do it, guys, I fucking love Lady Loki.Collapse )

Someone please write it!

So, uh, swing_set13 is totally to blame for this. Because I love the idea of Stiles as half ghoul and half snow angel. I love it so much. I also have a million (okay, four) sketches of Derek as a wolfman.

I can't heeeelp it!

So, I posted a prompt for fic in which the Teen Wolf gang get saddled with orphaned werewolf cubs, because I am a huge sucker for adopted!kidfic, and I got a direct fill and a sorta-fits-accidentally fill, and they're both wonderful!

And I may have bribed the writers with artings, because that's all I can contribute. So! Art!

For Saucery!Collapse )

And for Charlie_JaeCollapse )

It's a bit embarrassing how much cartoonier the second one turned out. I drew it on the computer without a paper sketch, which I don't do often. Hmm. I never realized it affected my style so much.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.

(There's supposed to be tagging, too, but I don't care. I didn't get tagged and I'm not tagging either.)

"Christina Rossetti's goblins are particularly nasty creatures. Fairies do not usually go to so much trouble to hurt people. Their markets are private, but they harm only people who interrupt them when they are busy. Rossetti makes her poem a kind of enchantment."

I... like poems about wicked little monsters. I'm cool.

Today, a co-worker came on the PA at sometime after 6am.

"I now understand why you told me there was coffee and donuts at the info desk. Asshole."

In his defense, our managers do sometimes bring us morning treats.

Also, I arrived in the kids' section with my ridiculous quantity of books and began cleaning up, and lo, on the shelf was an Aqualad action figure from McDonald's. I've been wanting one of these, but was unwilling to pay for one. Chances of someone coming back to the store the day after to find a happy meal toy = nil. SCORE!

In other awesomeness, we received more of My First Superman Book and the matching Batman book, much to my excitement, and the adorable cow teddy I want is on sale, 75% off. I will have it for a fiver. I have access to a scanner this afternoon, and Dungeons and Dragons tonight. This day is dead sexy.
24th-Mar-2011 06:57 pm - Lola is Awesome - Action Figuuuuures!
Ringo - Goggles
I tend to rant about comics a lot. A Lot. Lola, my best friend's mom, has probably heard nearly a hundred hours of my ranting over the last eight years, and like anyone else, I don't expect her to remember what I say. I just need to talk about what I just read, or the latest episode of my show, or something.

Today, her neighbour's son was getting rid of a bunch of action figures. Not only did Lola look through them for me, she remembered Superboy and Static, recognized them from the ramblings and descriptions, and brought them over to my house.

They're both lovely, and they're sitting on a shelf next to Ted Kord, and I'm so happy to know she cared enough to even remember some of what I talked about. I feel all warm and fuzzy.

Namine - Doodle
So, what have I been up to? I doubt anyone's really actively wondering, as I'm lurkish at best, but you'll find out now! Buahaha. I've been working at the bookstore, spoiling Morgan (and teaching her how to head-bang and do a vulcan salute) and reading fanfic, mostly. My favourite things right now are BBC's Merlin, Teen Titans (which my friends keep bashing, see below) and Batman and Robin. Damian is winning me over, in a strange, can't-stand-him kinda way. Just bought the hardcover of the first few issues at work, and pimped it around like mad. :3

Does... anyone reading this really care about Teen Titans spoilers? I doubt it, but...Collapse )

EDIT: Nevermind, the newest issue is full of idiocy. *sigh*

Oh! Also, recently read a coupl'a drabbles by iambickilometer, iesika and kirax2 which can be found here and here. (The later is porny, be warned) batstalker drew Tim's outfit, and I liked it, and the idea makes me giggle like mad, so I had to draw it too.

Tadaa! Lol, I went overboard with the suit, I'm sure, but it was fun, and I haven't finished something in eight million years, so it was nice.

Mmm, Dungeons and Dragons.
Nerdery under cutCollapse )
And this has been your loser ramblings of the day. :3 Yay!
Hippo Hug!
So, it may be that I have sneaky friends, or perhaps I'm just dumb? But Julia picks me up, we hang out, and she says she wants to come in and say hi to Norma before we start the D&D game. I'm like "Kaykay!" and I walk in the back door, and there's a table covered in foods! And I think food is worth more than gold; I'm a mad foodie. So I'm dead pleased, and ask the room in general if there's something going on, or if we're just having lunch before D&D, and isn't that cool!

And they give me this look like I'm dense. So maybe I missed the balloons, and streamers all over, and happy birthday banners, and stuff that were all over... I saw food. Food takes precedence!

So mah friends planned me a Superman-themed birthday party, with colour-coordinated food, and streamers, and a movie marathon of Clark-ness (and Lanterness, because Hal's so damn sexy) and big S-shield coffee cake. Because coffee is the only thing better than food.

I'm so freakin' sugar high! *snorts and hugs helium ballooooooons*
